Sourdough

Care

Hot From the Oven: Eat as much as you can hot from IZOLA's ovens....yum!

1-2 Day Storage: If you are going to finish the loaf in the next day or so, cut it in half, store it on the counter cut side down.

When ready to eat, if the cut end is slightly dry, slice a thin sliver off and discard. With your fresh slice, spritz with water by running quickly under the sink, then toast.

A Few Days Storage: Store in a sealed plastic bag and refrigerate (will keep several days) and follow the same reheating instructions above.

Longer Storage: Freeze ASAP in a sealed plastic bag.

Restoring from frozen:

  • If you like your crust soft, thaw on the counter the night before use and the loaf will be ready for breakfast.

  • For a hot, crispy, oven-fresh taste:

    • Thaw overnight (at least 3 hours).

    • Preheat oven to 375°F.

    • Give your frozen loaf a quick pass under a running faucet - crazy! The quick splash of water on all sides will help keep your loaf moist.

    • Place loaf directly on center oven rack and bake for 20 min.

    • Eat it hot from the oven!
